Fleet Foxes – “The Shrine/An Argument”
This epic 8 and 1/2 minute track on the album Helplessness Blues is gorgeous as is…add this new animated video and it’s really taken to another level! When you’ve got the time to sit for about 10 minutes, uninterrupted, check it out:
Ingrid Michaelson – “Ghost”
Soon we’ll have a new album from Ingrid Michaelson, which I’m excited about. She has become more mainstream and a lot of people are sensitive to her “glammed up” image these days, but despite this, I really think her music is coming straight from her heart and soul. I like the sounds of this single:
Lana Del Rey – “Video Games”
WOW. Here’s a gorgeous artist singing a gorgeous song with a gorgeous video to go along with it. It’s the type of song and video that I immediately play again because there’s so much to hear/see. Thanks to BD, who played this on Uncharted Waters tonight. New music every Friday night at 9pm on mvyradio!

The Black Keys – “Lonely Boy”
It’s always exciting when The Black Keys put something new out there and this is no exception. Not sure if this will be the official video for the song “Lonely Boy” but it’s hilarious and it certainly brightened up my Wednesday. The song is, of course, dynamite. Cannot wait to get the full length album, El Camino. It officially comes out December 6th. I sense this could be one of those late in the year, sneak attack albums that will become one of my favorite of 2011.

Amber Rubarth – “Washing Day”
Had some time to kill this evening before heading to a show and got to dig around on YouTube for a while (love that). I remembered this gorgeous tune from Amber Rubarth and the rad video that accompanies it. She actually just came out with a brand new album, so I’m stoked to get a copy and check it out.
Portugal. The Man – “So American”
I’ve heard a tune here and a tune there from this band…but haven’t really sat down with any of their albums. This new single and video is so solid…I’m definitely interested in checking out the rest of their latest album, In The Mountain In The Cloud. The music video really makes me miss summertime.

St. Vincent – “Cruel”
Wow. Wow, wow, wow. I’m SO excited for the new St. Vincent album, Strange Mercy, coming out September 12th. I had heard one other tune (“Surgeon”), which I liked, but I LOVE this newly released single and the video is absolutely awesome! It’s so creepy and brilliant…it had my full attention from start to finish. Annie Clark is stunning – her appearance AND her sound. She continues to make some of the most original music I’ve ever heard. Check it out:
