Been loving this new single from Spoon…
“Heart Is A Drum”
Been loving this track from Beck’s latest album and it’s got such a perfect vibe for this cloudy, misty morning.
“All The Time”
I’m so so excited for a new album from Canadian musician Afie Jurvanen aka Bahamas. The album, Bahamas Is Afie, will be out late August. “All The Time” is a dynamic track with a lot of fuzzy guitar sounds and a delightful hook… can’t wait to get my hands on the entire album! Bahamas will play Great Scott in Allston on September 13th.
I’m completely floored by this track. Robert Plant has managed to maintain what makes him legendary while sounding very contemporary. This could be a Radiohead track… you hear it? Man, it’s so killer. I’m psyched to hear more from the album, Lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar, out in August.
Brill Bruisers is probably the album I’m most excited about this year. Neko Case, A.C. Newman, Dan Bejar, Kathryn Calder and friends are the band The New Pornographers – one of those bands that I want to tell everyone about. I don’t know what it is about Canadian musicians but I just dig em the most! The title track to this album sounds FLIPPING PHENOMENAL and I’m dying to hear more:
The album comes out in August!
The New Pornographers
Chrissie Hynde KICKS ASS. That’s what I want to say every time I play this song on the radio…but I restrain myself. Here’s the single from Hynde’s new solo album Stockholm:
“The Worst Is Yet To Come”
I cannot stop listening to this song today. I just keep hitting repeat. Pairing these bleak lyrics with such FUN, catchy, upbeat music makes this track perfect to me. It’s from Keb’ Mo’s new album Bluesamericana.
“I got a bad bad feeling…that the worst is yet to come”
“Rent I Pay”
Have you heard the new Spoon single? I’m psyched to hear that they’ll release a new album in August! This track is very Spoon-like, with fuzzy guitar riffs and a heavy beat…can’t wait to hear more!
“A Sky Full Of Stars”
There are a lot of people out there who like to hate on Coldplay. I suppose it happens with any band that gets THAT big. I personally dig almost everything I hear from the band. I don’t listen to Coldplay for the lyrics but more for the epic sonic landscape they create with their tunes. Here’s the second single from their new album Ghost Stories:
