Robert Randolph & the Family Band – “Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That”
You may know this about me, but in case you don’t… one of my many joys in life is a fun little reality TV shows called So You Think You Can Dance? This show has incredible talent as well as fun costumes and lots of great music. Tonight, one routine was performed to this tune from Robert Randolph & the Family Band. Although the dancing wasn’t incredible, it still reminded me of how dope the song is:

And so it begins…this time of year I get super excited about one of my favorite TV shows…a guilty pleasure really…So You Think You Can Dance? It’s a phenomenal show for anyone who love dancing. And with great dancing, of course, comes great music. Tonight was the first official episode of the show complete with 9 amazing routines, and right away I was introduced to a few songs that I LOVE…especially this Passion Pit tune:
The Cinematic Orchestra – “To Build a Home”
Tonight, while watching one of my favorite TV shows, I was reminded of how special The Cinematic Orchestra is. I remember a few years ago, I got the chance to interview the band on WERS and simply being present in the studio while they performed live was an incredible experience. Their music BREATHES. That’s the only way I can describe it. You’ll hear what I mean with this amazing live rendition of “To Build a Home”:

OK…I’ve confessed to you that I’m obsessed with FOX’s reality dance competition, So You Think You Can Dance?. Now that my secret is out, I’m compelled to share this unbelievable group dance that kicked off season 6 of the program last week. The song may be familiar to you…it’s “Comanche” by The Revels and it’s featured in the movie Pulp Fiction. The routine is choreographed by the brilliant Wade Robson. The costumes are perfect, the moves are smooth and quick, and the dancers give off a cool and professional vibe. It’s just a brilliant routine that got me very fired up for this new season.
Check it out…the dance starts at about 1:25
