SONG: Dr. Dog

“Someday”

This tune is one that really shows how versatile Dr. Dog is as a band. It’s always difficult for me to describe them to people. Sure I can say Beatlesque harmonies…but listen to how this song begins – sounds like Radiohead for the first few seconds before the beat sets in and makes you think you’re about to hear a hip hop track. But nope, it’s just Dr. Dog. I’m beyond excited to see them live (with DELTA SPIRIT!) on 9/19 at Lupo’s in Providence.

Dr. Dog – “Shadow People”

This is one of my favorite tracks from the latest Dr. Dog album, Shame Shame. And what an awesome video! Sparklers, synchronized skating, balloons… it’s a lot of fun. Makes me miss going to birthday parties at roller skating rinks. Anyone else??

NEW Music Preview

I tracked through a gigantic pile of new music this week, and now I bring you short clips of my four favorites. The Bird and the Bee brilliantly cover Hall & Oates while Scottish group, Frightened Rabbit does not disappoint with their third studio album. I continue to enjoy Jakob Dylan’s mellow solo material and Dr. Dog still delights me with their Beatle-esque sound.
