Boston-based musician Will Dailey has a new album on the way called National Throat (how cool is that album title??). In 2011, Dailey signed onto a big record label and it didn’t take long for him to realize that wasn’t his path. Last year he revealed a Mission Statement announcing that he was once again a completely independent artist. In fact, National Throat was funded by his fans. Hear the lead single “Sunken Ship” below and check out the video for more about how this album was made.

LOCAL: Aerica Lauren
This past weekend I had the honor of sitting front row center at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge for an incredible night of music and I’m still reeling from the experience. Many weeks worth of Monday night open mic winners went head to head in the Main Event! and myself and two other judges had the difficult task of slowly eliminating all but one winner. I’m excited to introduce you to some of these incredible artists!
When it got down to the bottom 3 at the Lizard Lounge, it was terribly difficult to eliminate Aerica Lauren. All night we watched her pour the most genuine emotions into her performances. Aerica sailed through each round with just a little ukelele and her dynamic voice that reminded me of Bjork or Lisa Hannigan. I’m very excited to keep my eye on this artist and hear what she comes up with next. If you like the sound of this track, there’s plenty more of Aerica’s original music and fun covers on bandcamp and YouTube.
