Guster – “Architects & Engineers”

I’ve been loving this song… but resisting the urge to post because the video CREEPS ME OUT. I decided that was a silly reason not to share the song. So if you get creeped out by this little puppet guy like I do, just look away or close your eyes and listen… :)

Guster – “Perfect”

Recently, I was talking to a friend about Guster, and how much we both love them, especially their older tunes with heavy percussion. I feel like I’ve also had some recent discussions about addiction and sobriety with a few different friends. Where those two meet is the song “Perfect” – a beautifully written Guster tune that touches upon drug addiction…

“Played follow the leader
Keeping my steps in time
Counting on the wonder ahead
I leave the pain behind
It’s on me
It’s all mine
Go away
They’re my mistakes
They’re not your problem
Pinned down in this heaven
I’ll die a thousand times
Aware of the damage ahead
I’ll leave the pain behind
Another day
A perfect day
A twinge of pain
The sting of the needle”

Daytrotter: Guster

I won’t lie, Guster’s latest album, Easy Wonderful is not my favorite. I’ve always been a big fan of the band though, and it’s nice to get a live feel for a few of the new tunes with this Daytrotter session. They also do the older tunes, “Hang On” and “Backyard”. Guster’s music will always be a go-to for me in the summertime. It’s just got that warm, light, sunny feel to it. A treat to hear on a gray winter day…

Guster – “Do You Love Me”

I’ve been enthralled with this tune for a few months, since it was sent to mvy for airplay. Now there’s a fantastic new video for the tune. I’m still not sick of the catchy melody and clever lyrics! Guster’s new album, Easy Wonderful comes out October 5th. I think it’s a perfect name for a Guster album… their music is just so easy to listen to… so wonderful. Um, yea, I’m a fan.

Guster – “Do You Love Me?”

I love this song SO MUCH. It might be my absolute favorite song at the moment. We just started playing it at mvyradio, but the band has yet to release it. Rest assure, I will post it as soon as they do! Their new album Easy Wonderful comes out in October. The words for the chorus on this tune are so perfect and catchy… you’ll be singing along by the end of the first time you hear it!

“I wanna wake you from your dream
I wanna know just who you’re talking to
when you’re singing in your sleep
I wanna find out what it means
Do you love me??

I’ve got marbles in my mouth
I found the words I wanna say
but it’s impossibletospitthemout*
I can barely make a sound
Do you love me??”

*this part is sort of garbled… GENUIS
