July 4th Weekend on MV

There’s LOTS going on this weekend on the island…beyond the parades and fireworks, there are some neat things happening that you may not have heard about:

consensus

CONSENSES
is a collaborative art project started by Sally Taylor. 150 artists are involved and the result is a stunning exhibit of all sorts of connected creations…music, dance, paintings, poems, perfumes… you must see it to believe it.

7 of the CONSENSES “chains” are on display now at MIDNIGHT FARM ON MAIN STREET, VINEYARD HAVEN, OPEN DAILY FROM 11am to 8pm

DRIFTWOOD is a new jewelry store on Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs (right by the Lazy Frog!). This store is a wonderful collection of island designers and tomorrow they’ll have a special trunk show featuring one of my favorite MV jewellers – HAWKHOUSE! Meet creator Jessica Kramer and learn more about her gorgeous raw mineral electroformed jewelry. HAWKHOUSE TRUNK SHOW AT DRIFTWOOD, OB, JULY 4TH, 4pm – 8pm

We’ve got a lot of great local bands on MV, but the Hammerheads might be my favorite…and they don’t play very often! Catch them Saturday night at OCEAN PARK in Oak Bluffs! The music is SURF ROCK and SO much fun to dance to… JULY 4TH, 6pm – 8pm AT THE OCEAN PARK BAND STAND, OAK BLUFFS
