Barbara Phaneuf – “Emilio’s Flower Song”
For the past week, I’ve been wrapped up in “PURR”, a new musical written by my talented aunt, Barbara Phaneuf. I starred in the first two showings of the play this past weekend and it was a huge success!
After the show, we had an impromptu gathering with drinks and music. The guitar was passed to my aunt, and I was reminded of just how beautiful her folk music is as the whole room sang along to “Emilio’s Flower Song”.
“You only gotta be a flower
Only gotta be a flower
Only gotta be a flower
For this life…
…If you blossom as a weed
Make it glorious indeed
And brighten up the world with color
Brighten up the world with color
Brighten up the world with color
For your life”
It was a great moment! I loved being there with everyone and hearing such beautiful singers…the sing-a-longs were so much fun! <3
