Daytrotter: Laura Veirs

I was reminded of this wonderful artist when I saw her recent session posted on Daytrotter. I used to play her on WERS a few years ago and hadn’t heard her since… I love revisiting an artist to find that they’ve only grown and improved musically. If you like Ingrid Michaelson or Mirah, you may like Laura Veirs.

Home is where the 😴 is

I’m so beyond grateful for the generous photographers in our community who come and lend their amazing eyes to our dress rehearsals and performances 😍 Thank you to Patty McEvoy for capturing these shots and with them, the magic of CHICAGO✨🎩💥💋🔥✨

The two productions I was a part of have both wrapped and it’s a very strange mix of emotions for me. For the past 3 months I’ve had rehearsals up to 5 days a week. Not only is rehearsal a great place to escape reality but it’s also very social. The two groups of people I got to spend time with and create with were really top notch, and it’s rough to know that I won’t see many of them for the foreseeable future 💔 Now it’s back to reality and the piles of laundry I’ve neglected 😩 Things I won’t miss: the drive to and from rehearsal, the aches and pains from all the dancing, and wearing a full face of makeup 🤪 #musicaltheatre #musicaltheater #musicaltheatrelife #communitytheatre #communitytheater

I just loved stumbling upon this quiet moment at @folk_alliance ...but it truly exudes the exact opposite vibe of these past four days. It’s been a whirlwind of incredible music and connections, with some of the most passionate people I’ve ever met... and best of all, I was able to share it with my dad, without whom I would not be in this industry in the first place. It’s always sad when these things end, but I know I’ll be thinking about this music, these important conversations, these magical moments, for a long long time. Grateful. #folkalliance
